Scotland's first Self Management Week will highlight support for self management across voluntary, health and social care sectors throughout the country. Self Management Week will build upon "Gaun Yersel" - the Self Management Strategy for Scotland which was launched in 2008.
Self Management Week aims to raise awareness of self management as a tool for the two million people living with long term conditions in Scotland.
The week will include events and publicity which will showcase examples of good practice. During Self Management Week, LTCAS will host a series of events across Scotland. We will also encourage and support organisations to host their own events.

How Can I Get Involved?
Anyone can take part in Self Management Week by participating in events run by LTCAS and self management projects around Scotland, or by taking the opportunity to launch other events supporting and highlighting self management.
We understand that not everyone will be able to do this so here are some other suggestions:
- Publish articles in your newsletters and your websites
- Display information promoting self management week
- Run your own event to raise awareness and invite local media to take part
How Do I Keep LTCAS informed?
Please keep us informed of any self management events you are putting on during this week. Send us photos, news stories, press cuttings etc. E-mail us at smw@ltcas.org.uk |
