ALISS - Mapping services around Edinburgh
There's a wealth of organisations, classes, groups, advice centres and other support services around Scotland that can help those living with a long term health condition. Some of them are right on our doorstep.
But how do we find them? What's really available in the streets around us? It isn't always so easy to find out, particularly on the web.
The ALISS project
is developing a platform to link up local information from a variety of sources to give people a bigger, richer picture of the community around them.
Our next event will aim to start mapping some of this good stuff around Edinburgh.
Come along and :
-
hear about local health and wellbeing services
-
share information about your service or project
-
help to begin building a map of Edinburgh's health and wellbeing support
-
learn more about how you can use ALISS to help with your own information services
Everyone is welcome, particularly if you work in the voluntary sector or health service, helping people with long term conditions to live better, more independent lives.
It will be a hands-on, practical morning. We'll show ALISS in action and then do some mapping together, discovering some new local resources and thinking about how we might use ALISS to develop new information services in the future.

LTCAS Members Networking event - Healthcare Quality Strategy
The next LTCAS members networking event is focussed on the Healthcare Quality Strategy
.
LTCAS is represented on the Quality Alliance Board by Audrey Birt (LTCAS Chair) and on the Person Centred Delivery Group by Ian Welsh (LTCAS Chief Executive). LTCAS will also contribute to some of the action groups, particularly those that relate to: self management and assets approaches; children and young people; and reshaping care.
It is vital that LTCAS provides a genuine conduit for members to be engaged in the Quality Strategy; at the level of the Quality Alliance Board, the Delivery Groups and in specific pieces of work. This event set the context of the Quality Strategy and update member on current workstreams and activities to date, and review third sector engagement. There will be the opportunity for LTCAS members to discuss and feed into future priorities of the strategy.
Confirmed Speakers
- Anne Hendry, National Lead for Quality, Scottish Government
- Audrey Birt, Director for Scotland, Breakthrough Breast Cancer and Chair of LTCAS Board
Lunch will be available for members at 12.30pm with the event starting at 1pm. See agenda attached.
